After Israeli air strike in Gaza: rockets exploded this morning near Sderot

After firing into Gaza - a barrage of rockets launched this morning (Wednesday) from the Gaza Strip into Israel. Sderot sounded red alert and there were reports of hearing explosions in the area. Security forces spotted two rockets exploded in open areas around the city. No injuries or property damage.

First time since the end of Pillar of Defense last November, Air Force attacked last night (Tuesday) two locations in the Gaza Strip. This came after mortar shells were fired yesterday from Gaza into Israeli territory. Palestinians reported explosions were heard in the area of Beit Lahiya in the northern Gaza Strip.

Security sources told B'Chadrei Charedim that shooting was carried out yesterday against Israel, is the third high trajectory fire into Israeli territory since the end of Pillar of Defense

Statement issued by the Hamas Interior Ministry said: "The occupation jets bombed an open area in northern Gaza, no one was hurt."
The IDF Spokesman said that the IDF, using Force aircraft, attacked during the night two terrorist targets in northern Gaza. This is in response to a steep track to the state of Israel. Accurate vulnerability identified goals. All our aircraft returned safely to base.

Prior to that Israel fired on a Syrian position in Golan, in response to fire towards Israel. After that a few minutes before 20:00, three mortar shells were fired from Syrian territory. One fell on the axis of the system near the border, the second and third in Syrian territory. There were no casualties or damage.

Last night there was firing from small arms from Syria at IDF soldiers patrolling the border area of Tel Chazka in the Golan Heights, and the additional power not far away. There were no reports of injuries or damage. Army responded with tank fire into the sources of fire, and accurately identified Syrian position.

Attack in Gaza was carried out after earlier today three mortar shells were fired from the Gaza Strip, one of which landed in an open area in the Eshkol Regional Council and two Palestinian territories near the fence. There were no casualties or damage.

MK Eli Yishai, the Shas leader, said: "In defense of saving lives of Israeli citizens there are no opposition and no coalition. We must not return to the reality of shooting in the South as an understood reality in Israel, we must treat it as if Hadera is being fired at, civilian life and concern for the safety and security should be equally regardless of where they are. We must act to calm the situation but react strongly to any attempt to harm Israeli sovereignty and its citizens."

Defense Minister Moshe (Boogie) Yaalon, visited yesterday morning the area of the Golan Heights, and said: "When it hurts our interests, whether it's shooting or missiles across the border, whether it is intentional or not aiming at our borders, we are responding to paralyze the sources of fire as happened last week."
