Borough Park: Muslims threw stones at synagogue

Youngsters of Arab descent, yesterday attacked a synagogue in Borough Park, and threw stones at it.

Dozens of members of the synagogue in Borough Park panicked yesterday (Isru Chag) when stones were thrown at the glass door of the synagogue, and it shattered.

Yoel Landau a gabbai of the synagogue located on Avenue F in the neighborhood says: "We were in the middle of chazaras hashatz, the synagogue was full, I suddenly heard the sound of breaking glass, and shards of glass flew everywhere. Panic at the synagogue broke out, and it turned out that two Arab youths threw stones at the Beit Midrash.

"They fled into an adjacent business building and some members rushed after them, blocked the entrance to the business and called the police."

Police arrested the two young men.
"This is a quiet area and anti-Semitic incidents have never occurred here," says the gabbai.

Graffiti was painted on vehicles in the neighborhood.


And not just in New York: Even in Lakewood graffiti was painted against Jews in one of the urban parks where the orthodox community vacates during chol hamoed.

In Miami Beach a young Haredi was beaten by a passerby in the street. The youngster was beaten by a gang of youths who beat him and chanted slogans against Jews. The incident occurred on Monday afternoon when the young man returned from davening.

A bystander who witnessed the event called the police but the youngsters escaped.
