Rabbi Eliezer Berland, leader of Shuvu Banim, went underground and disappeared. This comes after he apparently fears the police investigation being conducted against him.

A month ago, the police conducted an investigation against Rabbi Eliezer Berland, on suspicion of serious criminal acts and suspected abuse. He left Israel and flew to Miami, Florida.

According to a report on Channel 2 main edition, when associates realized that the Rabbi is wanted for questioning in Israel, he went from Miami to Switzerland, where he met with his attorney, Dr. Jacob Weinroth, who was hired to handle the legal aspect of the case.

Since then Rabbi Berland has visited Morocco - where he stayed for the Seder, alongside his close associate Benny Maklev - and at this stage it is not known where he is hiding.
"Few people know where he is," say the community members. "Even now, police do not know where he is staying."

The Rabbi was supposed to come back tomorrow (Thursday) to Israel, but his return date was postponed to Sunday.

Today it turns out that his return was postponed again, and associates say "the Rabbi won't be back for another month."

Rabbi Berland is aware of the investigation conducted against him, knowing that he could be arrested as soon as he lands in Israel.
