The bitter verbal struggle between the Jewish Home and Shas, after the former's joining the coalition, and leaving the holy movement in the opposition, did not harm - amazingly – the special deal which was reported here in Behadrey Haredim a few months ago .
As we noted, both sides openly deny the existence of a deal, but no denial will be able to explain why Naftali Bennett bothered to include in the coalition agreement of the Jewish home - the law known as the law of Harav Amar, which will allow Hagr"s Amar an extension of office.
And lo and behold, no one is going to wait for the hundred days of grace, or even until after Pesach, today (Monday) during the cabinet meeting apparently the continued tenure of Hagr"s Amar will be assured, although it remains unclear in what format, either as a temporary extension which will be later regulated, or a regular extension and official appointment.
As mentioned, the two sides are trying to keep a lid on everything relating to the deal, moreover in Shas itself there is criticism of it, but no one dares to speak in his name, as Hagr"s Amar is a favorite of Hgr"o Yosef.
We shall mention that a few weeks ago there were rumors which strongly suggested that Hgr"o Josef assured the continued tenure of Harav Amar will be anchored in the coalition agreement. Nobody thought that the agreement of the Jewish Home and Likud, but just in the above agreement appears explicit provisions dealing with the Rav Amar law.
And the Jewish Home and Hagr"s Amar? Here comes Shas' share of the deal, which could trigger the anger and wrath of the little sister Torah Judaism - according to those stubborn rumors, Shas members are committed to ensure widespread support and the coronation of Rabbi David Stav to the square of Chief Ashkenazi Rabbi.
Will the deal work on both sides? Time will tell.
