Bus with about 50 Israeli tourists - all haredim - including children and pregnant women on their way to stay in Budapest for Shabbos, found themselves stranded 18 hours, along with thousands of other cars, in a snowstorm on the highway m-1 between Austria and Hungary.

One of the passengers said in a conversation with B'Chadrei Charedim that they crossed the border, and got stuck at Kilometer 98. "We passed the cold night, and with it we ran out of food and hot drinks. Zaka tried to get us a helicopter, but the attempt failed.

"In practice, a short time ago, Zaka sent us two doctors who came by jeep. They checked the passengers. Ambulances are also making their way to us; hopefully this trip will end with good taste. "

With the help of the international unit of ZAKA, the Ministry of Hungary disasters (running under the local Interior Ministry), the police, the army and the Ministry of Health joined the rescue effort for the bus quickly and safely.

Graders were brought on the road and they have worked hard to clear the snow piled up around the bus, from all directions. Even hospitals were prepared to receive them.

Shimon Lankri, one of the bus passengers told B'Chadrei Charedim, at 13:55, "passengers were divided into small groups," and "evacuation began using private vehicles to a nearby village, where apparently we'll stay on Shabbos, hoping that everyone will be there, and not separate families."

An hour later, the evacuation was completed, and ZAKA began to ensure the supply of kosher food for passengers.

Meanwhile, a group of 11 Israeli ou kashrut supervisors turned to ZAKA, after they were also stuck with their car in the snow in Budapest. Nine of them turned to a local hostel. Three attendants disappeared. One has been found, and now they are trying to find the other two.
