Tonight at around 4:00 four trash cans in the street in Emanuel were lit on fire. Due to the fire two vehicles were burned and another vehicle was damaged.
One of the cars belongs to Rabbi Yaakov Cohen, rabbi of the Synagogue and founder of the Oholei Yaakov Talmud Torah in the city, and the second to Rabbi Gamaliel, a resident of the city.
Rabbi Yaakov Cohen told B'Chadrei Charedim that sifrei kodesh and a laptop were in his car, in which books he wrote were typed.
"Just last night I refueled the car," he said, "and it was full of fuel, which probably caused the vehicle to burn completely.
"The damage is to all the city's residents," said Rabbi Cohen "My wife has set up a charity organization that helps residents of the city and in the laptop were computer-related materials for this activity. The car did not have comprehensive insurance, I do not know from whom to sue the damage."
Yisrael Yisraeli the photographer at News 24, a resident of Emmanuel who recorded the incident, told B'Chadrei Charedim "residents witnessed some youths who rampaged through the night, and set several trash cans on fire, probably vandalism."
Police officials said that four bins were lit on fire, and therefore vehicles parked nearby were burned. The culprits are local youth, and at this point the likelihood is that it was not deliberate arson of the vehicle itself, though all directions are being tested."
