Immediately after Pesach – an increase in electricity prices: after Chol Hamoed Pesach an increase of 6% in electricity costs will come into effect. The electric company wanted to raise the price by 10% to 12%, but following pressure from the Prime Minister's office, the increase will be less.

The increase in electricity prices may also affect the price of water, and during the summer there may be an increase of 2.4% in prices.

The rise in electricity prices followed the need to use fuel substitutes, after gas flow from Egypt was discontinued. Although next month gas flow from the "Tamar" reservoir will begin, it will not lead to a reduction in price until 5775 (2015).

The Ministry of Finance said that the Electricity Authority is responsible for the price and that it should "reflect the costs of generating electricity."
