Why did the Rosh Yeshiva of Mir leave for a quick visit to London?

Rabbi Eliezer Yehuda Finkel Rosh Yeshiva Mir went out today (Wednesday) on a surprisingly short visit to London.

The Rosh Yeshiva continues the custom of his father Hgrn"tz Finkel zt"l, to visit near the end of winter time a supporter of the yeshiva who lives abroad.

In fact this year the Rosh Yeshiva was also expected to visit on the occasion of the wedding of the daughter of the Governor. But because of the many family celebrations including the wedding of his brothers son, Rabbi Shmuel Finkel one of the rabbis of the yeshiva, Hgr"r Shmuelevitz grandson's wedding and wedding of the son of Hgr"a Arieli, he was unable to attend.

The Rosh Yeshiva had already planned not to go to London this year. But he received the phone call today and the Governor encouraged him to participate in at least one sheva brachos.

The Rosh Yeshiva agreed this afternoon and within two hours tickets were organized for the Rosh Yeshiva who left to London and will return to Israel on Friday.
