Cigarettes on Pesach? "There are products with no concern of chametz"

Halachic discussion about the qualifications of cigarettes on Pesach, for fear of chametz mixture, caused the Company Dobek, Israel, to turn to Badatz Beit Yosef and Rabbi Yosef Cohen Zaritsky, to confirm that indeed their products are strictly kosher for Pesach.

A discussion concerning cigarettes on Pesach is currently being conducted in the U.S. Jewish community. The issue has arisen in the wake of recent laboratory tests, and where it turned out that among the components of cigarettes may be about 17 types of materials that might be produced from chametz.

Association of American Rabbis investigated the matter, found that manufacturers soak the tobacco leaves in different materials to give them a good taste, and it may be that among these materials are those that are chametz, even in Israel the issue came up for discussion.

However, the products imported by 'Dobek' HIGHWAY and Golf Super Slims are not included in the certificate of kashrut.
