What does a divorced couple's marriage after 10 years look like?

A wedding is no doubt an exciting thing. When it comes to zivug sheni, the excitement is less then zivug rishon, but the heart capillaries still flutter. However, when it’s a remarriage of a divorced couple, and after ten years of separation, the excitement is even higher, sometimes, even than the first one.

Uzi Barak, B'Chadrei Charedim photographer, who was a witness to the event brings notes from this event, which he encountered randomly.

"I was in Tel Aviv yesterday morning; I went out to photograph the building which collapsed on Nachlat Binyamin. On my way there by motorcycle, I stopped on my way for a minute to make an essential phone call.

"While I was talking, A Jew approached me whose appearance showed him that he was a rabbi in Israel, and asked me whether I have two minutes to complete a minyan. I was sure they were getting ready for mincha. I accepted and went inside the building with him. Within the large room I notice to my surprise, that the couple, a man and a woman, is all dressed up, but not with ordinary bridal wear, standing under a canopy which was standing on stilts which four people hold. Around them were a number of individuals. Everyone seemed excited and shed tears. I was trying to understand what's going on here? It is not a hall and not a synagogue.

"One of the atendees said softly, 'be happy with us, this is a rare mitzvah, a marriage of a divorcee who returns his ex-wife after a decade since they parted ways. They decided to return and try their luck again. Therefore the joy here is great."

"I stayed until the end of the wedding, of course. Before I left, I wished the new-old newlyweds - and not ironically, that their marriage this time will be better than their first experience"...
