Egypt has prevented the screening of a documentary about the Jewish community. 'Walla' site reports.

Security agencies announced the decision a day before the screening, and film producers claim they did not receive any explanation concerning the decision.

The film, "The Jews of Egypt", tells the story of Jewish communities in Egypt from the first half of the 20th century to the mass departure under pressure from authorities between the years תש"י-תש"כ.

Film producer said in a statement: "I was shocked when I realized the agencies watched the film. I was even more shocked to discover that the same thing has happened before. There is no explanation other than an attempt to delay and obstruct us. We will delay the screening until we find a solution."

Censorship in Egypt is tough and monitors all the texts published in the country. So far they have not responded to the allegations against them.
