The arrested suspect had managed so far to escape the police. The Rishon Lezion Magistrate's Court extended the remand by four days.

Consequently, the crimes unit investigating the case for several months, continue the investigation which allegedly involved more than 17 people - who are suspected of involvement in kidnapping the boy, his imprisonment and serious violent offenses towards him - by the head of the criminal organization of Charlie Abutbul and his people.

According to the charges filed against 12 people, including Abutbul himself and a number of Orthodox defendants, defendants are attributed with counts of extortion by force or intimidation, conspiracy to commit a felony and false imprisonment.

The indictment describes the case development: On last October 22, Rabbi Meir Fadida (one of the defendants) filed a complaint in which he argued that the previous day, in the evening when he attended the wedding of his daughter, the amount of money involved was stolen from his home.

Son of Rabbi Fadida (another defendant) suspected that the boy from Jerusalem was responsible for the theft, despite the denial. They conspired with the defendants to return the stolen money - using violence, threats and false imprisonment. The indictment describes that the boy was brought in for questioning by the defendants who beat him with a bat and punched him.

The boy decided that he should acknowledge it even though he had no involvement in it, to stop the beatings. He told the attackers that the money is in his apartment. Some of the defendants drove to the address given by the boy - but the money was not found. The attackers told the boy: "We will kill you." So the boy was taken to the home of Abutbul in Netanya, where he remained until the end of October. At one point, the boy managed to escape from the apartment, and complained to the police.
