Two prominent religious Zionist rabbis, Samaria Rabbi - Rabbi Eliakim Lebanon and Safed rabbi, Rabbi Shmuel Eliyahu, called out this morning (Monday) with a public reading to heads of Habayit Hayehudi, to open negotiations immediately with the ultra-Orthodox parties.

The public call is published today, following which in recent days the rabbis who are considered significant supporters of Habayit Hayehudi, acted behind the scenes, trying to create unity between the communities.

The open letter, addressed to the heads of Habayit Hayehudi party, states, in part: "We come to express our concern of the course of the coalition negotiations, the conduct of a disconnection with ultra-Orthodox parties.
"Despite the gap in our opinions and actions, after all, we all, we are both supporters of the Torah and the commandments. We hereby appeal to you in a clear call: open negotiations immediately with the ultra-Orthodox parties!

"We are aware of the severe manifestations and insults which came out of the mouths of Knesset members of these parties., But in this matter, we need to be as those offended and not abusive." There is no reason for 'Measure for Measure'. We must see the benefit fo the Torah, and hence respect for the land of Israel. How will we educate our children to love Israel, if our party leaders do it differently?! Our words which come out from the heart; we believe penetrate the hearts."
