Six months home confinement to the gabbai of Spinka who refuses to betray

While the Spinka Rebbe – Borough Park visits Israel for the first time since his release from prison a few months ago, a special tefilla took place on Friday at Chassidut Spinka - Borough Park for the success of the gabbai, Rabbi Moshe Lazer Zigelman, at court held on Friday afternoon in Los Angeles, California.
On Chanuka the gabbai was released from prison, after the desired period of nine months in prison on charges of failure to cooperate with the police and refusing to transfer information about the devotees who came to the house of the Rebbe.
A federal judge sentenced Zigelman to 13 months in prison, but his lawyers were able to shorten his sentence by four months. Zigelman was gladly accepted at community and amongst Hasidism, but the joy was short lived. Prosecution claimed Zigelman for not cooperating with authorities – in another case.
Last Friday the Federal Court in Los Angeles sentenced Zigelman to six months of house confinement. The gabbai is forbidden to leave his home for six months, except for morning and evening prayers. He must also report to the police once a day.
The Rebbe received the news on Motzei Shabbos in Israel.
Zigelman repeated and told the court that he would rather sit in jail all his life, rather than go against, "and informers will have no hope" (ולמלשינים אל תהיה תקווה). I say it three times a day: If I inform on a Jew, I will never have hope by G-d. I prefer sitting in prison - than go against the commandments of G-d, "said Zigelman.
