Child of 6, defined without religion, and was raised by a foster Orthodox family – will convert to the Jewish religion, said the Family Court in Haifa, according to the decision of social services.
According to the report on 'Walla' it indicates that Judge Esperance Alon explained that it was long since she begun to stay with the foster family, and to avoid exposing the child to additional difficulties and remove her from the adopted family, which anchored her safe.
The girl's mother signed a few years ago on the consent of a parent adoption. As for the consent of her father, a ruling declared her as an adopted child. According to the decision of the social services, the child has been staying since 2007 in an Orthodox foster family home, which turned to the child welfare service with a request to adopt her.
According to theory of the social worker, the child was absorbed and integrated well into the foster family home, which gives her warmth and love. She receives from them treatment, care and support and developed a strong love between her and the adoptive family.
Under these circumstances, said a representative of the Attorney General that the adoption by the foster family will benefit the child, and therefore the law and justice, and for her sake, to respond and convert. However, the judge noted that the legislature determined that the conversion request for the adopted must be made within a reasonable time and at about the time the minor is placed in foster care.
