The soldier who accidently shot and killed Rabbi Dan Merzbach was acquitted: MAG ordered yesterday (Sunday) to definitively close the investigation of the shooting incident in which a soldier shot Rabbi Dan Merzbach and killed him.

The incident occurred over a year ago. Rabbi Dan Merzbach drove his car and approached the outpost in which the soldiers have not yet deployed the barrier. They signaled him with flashlights to stop, but he did not notice and continued to drive on. The soldiers, who did not recognize who is sitting in the car, shot him, leading to loss of control of the vehicle and the accident in which Merzbach died.

According to the results of the investigation show that "after careful consideration it was decided not to take legal action against any military source, who was involved in the incident. This is based on evidence gathered in the investigation, which revealed that during the incident, the soldiers felt in mortal danger."

However, the previous investigation showed serious failures, including the fact that the deceased was unable to identify the soldier in the location where there was supposed to be a barrier.
