Rabbi Pinto investigation branching to the United States: Israel Police intends to investigate in the United States on the Rabbi suspect case that tried to bribe the police investigations division chief, Brigadier - Ephraim Bracha, reports Ma'ariv.

Rabbi Yeshayohu Pinto was arrested with his wife Devorah last October - by fraud squad investigators who suspected the two tried to bribe Bracha and offered him two hundred thousand dollars. Allegedly, Rabbi and Rebbetzin Pinto transferred to the officer a suitcase containing one hundred thousand dollars. In exchange Bracha was to provide the Rabbi with information about the ongoing investigation at Chazon Yeshayohu, related to the rabbi.

During the investigation Rabbi Pinto said that he was squeezed and required to transfer money. He further claimed that during his stay in the United States he updated the FBI that an Israeli police officer trying to blackmail him, and to pay hundreds of thousands of dollars, in order to prevent further investigation.

Because of this, the police investigations division created contact with the FBI in an attempt to verify the version of the rabbi.

FBI transferred unofficial information on the issue, and the prosecution ordered police to investigate in the U.S. and American FBI official statements for further investigation.
