The sensitive issue of recruiting the yeshiva students, it seems, has caused the worsening of censorship rules in haredi radio stations: IDF produced a broadcast to encourage hareidim to join the Nahal Haredi. This framework was established over a decade ago with the support of rabbis.
In the campaign, the Haredi Nahal Haredi turned to radio stations, too, Kol Hari and Kol Barama, but both chose to reject the broadcast and not to transmit it. This was revealed today by Yair Shriky, Army Radio reporter.
Avi Rosen, CEO of Radio Kol Chai, told Behadrey Haredim: "Kol Hai Radio operates according to the needs and unique characteristics of the sectorial audience of the station. The decision to broadcast any content – stems from our commitment and responsibility to adapt the content to the listener's ear. "
In a conversation with Avi Mimran, director of programs at Kol Barama, indicate that the broadcast-style "they are protecting us, the framework protects them. They are fighting for our security, we believe in them" - is causing discomfort and lack of desire to put on the broadcast. The radio station contacted the IDF to change the words, but in the meantime it was not done.
"This is a false statement," said Mimran to Behadrey Haredim, "Radio Kol Barama wants to advertise the broadcast with a slight change in terminology and to fit it to our audience.
"We stand with the soldiers of Nahal Haredi and it is clear to us that they are doing holy work. However, in an appeal to the haredi public, one must understand the sensitivity of the word 'emunah' as such which is connected with faith in G-d only. As stated in Tehillim:" If G-d would not guard a city, a guard would guard in vain. "
Mimran adds that 'Kol Barama' is a haredi radio station that all its employees and broadcasters served in the IDF.
At the radio station Kol Chai the broadcast was put on during the days of Purim, by mistake, before being transferred for examination by the content department at the station, and was disqualified for broadcast.
The IDF Spokesman said: "This is a broadcast to encourage the recruitment to the Netzach Yehuda Battalion following personnel requirements designated for sector radio stations in a variety of tools by the army on the issue."
As for the disqualification of the spots, a response was not given.
