Regulations in Belze: May get engaged only from 7th Nissan

Two ads published this morning in The Orthodox camp, on behalf of the Belze Hasidic education, have become the talk of the day among the disciples.

Recently the committee received numerous requests from parents of students at shiur B in the yeshivas, who argued that the fact that some students in the class become engaged earlier in the year, is causing gross negligent at the beginning of the school year, and later dissolution of the class, so many parents have no choice but to be drawn to the subject of shidduchim against their will and aspiration.

The parents raised more convincing argument that the large majority of the yeshivas in Israel have regulations and there is no reason that in Chassidut Belze they will not determine a clear position.

Members of the education board in Belze turned to the Rebbe and consulted him about how to operate. According to the decision accepted by the Rebbe, it was determined that henceforth the yeshiva students will be engaged only after the winter zeman in shiur b (7th Nissan). Also, the wedding will not be determined until the next Tevet, when the chassan will be a student at shiur C.

The committee adds that those who for any reason will be an exception, their son the chassan will not be allowed to continue his stidoes at the yeshiva gedola, and will have to transfer to the yeshiva gevoho (known as Birkas Aharon or Mesivta).

Another ad, deals with the topic of classroom registration. According to the committee, there was a problem when students studying in institutions of the chassidus throughout the world, come together at the end of their studies and come to study in Israel. Thus, large gaps are formed in the age of the students who come to the yeshiva gedolos.

Consultation with the spiritual and physical executive, and with the consent of the Rebbe, it was decided to establish a uniform date for all institutions in Israel and abroad for each class and grade.

According to the decision, the date for each class is determined from 1st Elul up to 30th Av. Committee asks all parents, to be very careful about registering new students entering institutions in the coming year, on time and record each child in the class which was intended for him – only.
