Looking for heirs: the Claims Conference, which is responsible to compensate victims of the Holocaust, has released a list of thousands of homes and business owner's who their heir's owner has not received compensation for them. The total is a cost of a quarter billion, and the publication of the list is a last call for those potential successors.

In an interview with Haaretz Shlomo Gur, Vice President of the conference explained, "We must distinguish between the legal aspect and the moral and ethical according to law, according to German law it is very clear. Claims Conference is the owner of that property and has the mandate to use it for the benefit of the collective".

Heart of the affair are large sums of money received in exchange for the assets held in each family which was murdered in the Holocaust or those heirs who failed to sufficiently prove ownership. At the time it was decided that the remaining amount will be dedicated to supporting survivors, education and commemoration.

But many complaints were received at the conference, by people who did not manage to claim the property of their families, led her to allocate a sum of 50 million Euros to compensate the heirs who will be recognized as eligible. Publication of the list is designed to find them and exploit the quarter of a billion shekels to the end of the saga.

Application for compensation does not cost anything and is simple to fill out a form that appears on the conference, in English or German, and humidity of the government to address the conference.
