Tragedy in Bnei Brak: 5 month old died in her crib

This afternoon, rescue centers received a report from a nursery on Maimon Street in Bnei Brak that a five months old infant lost consciousness and does not respond.

Hatzalah and Hatzalah Gush Dan volunteers, who rushed to the scene, began to perform life-saving CPR. Fifteen minutes later, the little girl was taken while performing CPR, to the Maaynei Hayeshua hospital in the city, in critical condition, but there, unfortunately, doctors were forced to determine the death.

The nursery worker told the Hatzalah medic that the little girl was sleeping on her stomach, and when she tried to wake her she realized her skin color is not normal - and called the rescue forces.

Effy Feldman, head of Hatzalah branch in Bnei Brak, said: "According to what was said to the paramedic, the nursery teacher put the baby to sleep in the nursery, and at lunchtime was horrified to see the girl was unconscious. Medics tried to save the life of the little girl and carried out intensive CPR, but unfortunately the little girl was taken to hospital, where doctors had determined her death."

Koby Haritan, a Hatzalah Gush Dan medic, who lives nearby: "the baby was at the home of the caregiver. When she came to wake her and saw that she was not responding she called MDA right away. When we arrived, we immediately began resuscitation, along with other medics. MDA ICU staff continued advanced CPR and she was taken to Maaynei Hayeshua hospital."

This is the second incident within five days in Bnei Brak: Last Thursday there was a similar case which ended in disaster, when a four and a half month old, lost consciousness at the home of his caregiver on Imrei Chaim Street in Bnei Brak. After resuscitation he was taken to hospital where doctors pronounced him dead.
