The largest diamond robbery continues to make waves in Europe in general and Belgium in particular as advertised in B'Chadrei Charedim, robbers armed with automatic weapons with laser sensors - stole last night (Monday) at around eight o'clock at night, a delivery of diamonds from a Brinks truck which was on airport track in Brussels, in an especially speedy robbery which lasted three minutes.

Gang of eight members, robbed a 'Brink' truck of diamonds and jewelry, and loaded the cargo on a flight to Zurich, whilst using two cars: one broke through the security fence, and the other – which they turned into a police car - escaped.

The first vehicle was located later burned in a suburb in Brussels, and the other vehicle was not located so far.
Belgium Airport spokeswoman said: "the robbery lasted a few minutes and they fled immediately from the airport through the damaged fence – it is clear the robbers were professionals."

Switzerland prosecution spokeswoman, Anya Beinns, said that the intruders were armed and masked, and they used two vehicles during the robbery. Within minutes, they reached the plane cargo company, took the precious stones and drove away - without firing a single bullet, and no one was hurt.

"Diamond value is $ 50 million," said Carolyn Wolf, a diamond center in Antwerp. "This is a huge amount. And since they are uncut diamonds and have no certificate, the chance it is likely to find them is very low. They can just sell it and go away," she concluded.
