Drama in Belgium: Diamonds worth millions stolen on way to Israel

Sophisticated robbery of diamonds: a diamonds' shipping designated for Israel arrived last night, under security, at the Brussels airport, from there it was supposed to be sent by a Swissair plane to Zurich, but vandals emerged airport with drawn weapons and stole the diamonds, estimated at a value of approximately $ 50 million.

The plundered goods belong, among others, to hareidim, members of the Antwerp Diamond Exchange, and was intended for Israel Diamond Exchange traders, including many hareidim.

Antwerp traders usually send Israel a weekly delivery, on a fixed basis.

Brussels police launched a hunt for the robbers.

The merchandise is insured with special insurance and was transferred by three companies: Brinks, Malca Amit and Ferrari, which send goods of diamonds, including Israel.

Today at 11 am Brussels police will hold a press conference about the robbery which stirs the Belgian diamond community.
