The story which is stirring Beitar: the teacher, the child and wig

Urban legend in Beitar Illit: Toddler who choked in kindergarten, saved to the kindergarten teacher's promise not to wear a wig.

The story circulated in Beitar Illit: Yesterday (Sunday), during lunch in one of the pre-nursery playgroups, a one and a half year old toddler began choking after a piece of food got stuck in his throat - and lost consciousness.

The teacher tried to keep calm, left the kindergarten and called the neighbors.

A Hatzalah medic tried to pull the piece of food from the baby's throat – who had already turned blue. Within the pressure prevailed in the kindergarten, the teacher vowed that if the child returns to breathe and is not harmed - she will make sure not to wear a wig and wear a cloth head covering.

Seconds later, the boy threw up a piece of food and returned to breathe. He was taken to the local Kupat Cholim, where he underwent a series of medical tests.

"The doctor could not believe he was not breathing for more than 2 and half minutes," said the teacher to B'Chadrei Charedim.

In the evening two other women who were present at the daycare came to one of the Rabbis of the city and asked if due to the fact that they were present they must remove their wig? The Rabbi replied that it is their decision.

The teacher herself came to the Rabbi and asked if she had to keep her promise which was made due to pressure and the Rabbi replied that "this case is unusual and must keep the vow."

"I have no doubt that only because of the promise, the child breathed again," concluded the teacher.
