Gerrer and Vizhnitz Rebbes
The draft decree storm which threatens the Torah world in the Holy Land, will be copied in the coming days to the United States.
It appears that the Gerrer Rebbe is initiating a huge outcry rally in New York against the threat hoisted at the doorstep of the Torah world. Currently the plan for the trip is underway, and probably today a decision will be reached and the program ends of the historic journey will be finalized.
In recent days, the Gerrer Rebbe asked for at least another Rebbe to join him on the trip. It now seems it will be the Vizhnitzer Rebbe, who has expressed agreement in principle for the special journey. The Tzanzer Rebbe also expressed his willingness to join, but asked to put off the trip by a day, because he was not feeling well. Possibly other Gedolei Torah may join.
The heads of Gur Hassidus, who left last week for New York to attend the wedding of the late R' Avraham Noah Klein, who passed away two months ago, are making preparations towards the Rebbes' arrival.
According to the plan, there will be a huge outcry rally on Purim day - "lehikahel vela'amod al nafsham", in the hope that the pressure and noise which the conference will stir among American Jews will have its effect in Israel as well.
