Just became mayor - and has flown to Lakewood to be photographed

The new mayor of Bnei Brak, Rabbi Avraham Rubinstein, is trying to catch as much as possible in the few months he has left to serve as mayor until the municipal elections in Cheshvan.

Last week the mayor went on his first trip as mayor of a city. The first target chosen was the twin city of Bnei Brak - Lakewood. .

During the Lakewood visit a reception was held at City Hall, there the mayor met Albert Akerman and council members.

During the meeting, the two discussed the role of a mayor in Bnei Brak vs. Lakewood, and the relationship between a mayor in the U.S. city with the government, compared to events in Israel.

After the meeting at the City Council Rubinstein met with the police chief Rob Lawson, and toured the educational institutions in the city.
