Bar Mitzvah sermon - now the competition: the Ministry of Education began a new initiative, which calls for students to write the sermon on their own for their Bar Mitzvah, to upgrade their capability of speech, writing and public speaking.

The competition is called "The outstanding sermon" and is intended for 6th graders, and is part of the profession of "Israeli culture and heritage", students learn the weekly Torah portion and are engaged with Jewish identity, and now will also include writing the Bar Mitzvah sermon as part of the curriculum materials could win the top prizes in education.

Ministry of Education stressed: "The students will be required to design the sermon according to the views of personality, while familiarity with Jewish sources and understanding their relevance to their lives. In addition, students will be required to observe the syntax, grammar, on proper language and articulating."
