London: Young Arab ran over a Chassidish Avrech in Stamford Hill

A severe incident of a hit-and-run accident occurred yesterday (Tues.) night in Stamford Hill, London: a Chassidish Avrech, resident of the neighborhood, was run over while standing next to a traffic light and waiting to cross the street.

The accident happened on Hendon street. A car, driven by a youngster with an Arabic countenance, which drove up the street, changed its angle of driving, went onto the pavement, hit the Avrech and injured him in a medium state.

The driver escaped from the scene and left the injured bleeding. Eye witnesses who saw the incident hurried to write down the number on the plate of the escaping car, and then gave over the details to policemen who arrived on the scene.

The Hatzola and Hashomrim organizations of Stamford Hill transferred the injured to the local hospital. The police announced that it will investigate the circumstances of the incident, and the claim that it was an intentional accident.

The Askanim of the neighborhood have been putting much pressure on the police to investigate the matter immediately. It appears that the police in Stamford Hill is walking on thin ice with whatever is connected to events in t he neighborhood between Chareidi residents to their Muslim neighbors, for fear of riots, which the neighborhood has known more than once.
