"Bein Hazmanim" will start formally only at the end of the week, but the tragedies which are known to us from these times – came earlier than expected.
Avraham Zvi Galinsky, aged 18, the grandson of Hagaon Harav Yaakov Galinsky, resident of Ramot, Jerusalem, second year Talmid of Kol Torah Yeshiva, drowned to death on Monday afternoon.
The mission officer of Zak"a, Chaim Weingarten, told Behadrey Haredim: "This was a group of 4 Bochurim from Kol Torah in Jerusalem, who went out on a hike in the Jerusalem mountains. During the trek in the Prath River in the area of Wadi Kelt, they noticed that one of their friends is absent.
"After a short search, they decided not to take any chances, and called in the rescue unit Megilot. After continued searches, they located the missing boy, lying on the bottom of a pool of water.
The Zak"a volunteers of the Sha"y district are at the place, together with forces of the police and are rescuing the boy".
Mike Aut, second officer of the rescue unit Megilot, told Behadrey Haredim: "Close to the hour 16:15 we received a call through the police, about a group of Yeshiva Bochurim who were hiking in the area of Wadi Kelt, and reported that their friend is missing. Within a short while the volunteers of the unit went into the river channel and started searching after him.
"Towards the hour of 18:00 one of the volunteers reported that he had located the absentee in a waterfall, without breath of life. A doctor who arrived at the place determined his death.
"At this time (18:20), we are taking him to the exit of the river channel, where a team of Zaka is waiting to take care of the corpse".
The levaya of the Bochur took place last night (Monday) at 22:00 from the funeral house Shamgar to Har Hamenuchos.
