Otniel's terrorist captured: 16 years old Palestinian

After a chase - security forces captured tonight (Monday) the Palestinian terrorist who carried out the stabbing attack at Otniel, in which Daphna Meir HYD was murdered in front of her children. The terrorist is a 16-year-old Palestinian boy who was caught at his home in Beit Amarrah by the Duvdevan unit.

The terrorist was located just three miles from the settlement of Otniel, where he carried out the murder. He was transferred to a Shin Bet interrogation, in the searches the Judea Brigade participated as well.

As recalled on Sunday evening, Dafna was home with three children in Otniel. A young Palestinian, who was apparently working at a construction site in the settlement, burst into the house armed with a knife. Daphna tried to push him, according to testimony of her family, but to no avail. He stabbed her with a knife and she fell bleeding. "I sat a few dozen meters from the house. I heard a scream, I did not understand what had happened. I saw the terrorist running, while two or three seconds he came down. At first I did not understand what was happening ... I did not see his face at all," said an Otniel resident who was nearby.

The investigation revealed that Daphna Meir HYD opened her front door when three of her children were present in the home. The terrorist stabbed her and a struggle developed between the two, during which Meir closed the door several times and finally he ran away. Medics and paramedics of the Magen David Adom who were called to the scene determined her death after resuscitation attempts.
