On the border of China: Medvedev inaugurated a Jewish center

In the city of Vladivostok in eastern Russia, on the border of the State of China, was held an inauguration event last Friday, for the large Jewish center in the city center, which includes a synagogue, mikveh, a Torah library, chessed center, classrooms, a Jewish school and more.
The event was attended by Chief Rabbi of Russia, Hagaon Rabbi Berel Lazar and Prime Minister of Russia, Dmitry Medvedev, governor of Vladivostok, the donor Kogan of St. Petersburgan, honorable of the event the city Rabbi and Lubavitch emissary, Rabbi Simon Warkin and others.
The city is located approximately at a 9-hour flight distance from Moscow the capital, and has a population of thousands of Jews. The large building, dating back over 100 years, was returned to the "Union of Jewish Communities of Russia" about ten years ago, and great resources were invested in extensive renovations, in order to match the needs of the Jewish community of about 5,000 people in the city, headed by Rabbi Warkin.
On Shabbos Parshas Vayigash, a special Jewish revival was held, with the participation of Russia's Rabbi, and masses of the city's Jews.
