Thai police arrested a 28-year-old Turkish citizen suspected of causing an explosion by laying trunk, which occurred in central Bangkok two weeks ago, in a busy commercial center in central Bangkok, close to Erawan Hindu temple in the district of Chidlom.
The explosion resulted in the deaths of 20 people, including three tourists from China and the Philippines, and injured about 125 people.
About a week ago, police released a composite sketch of the main suspect, local media reported that police are looking for "a man of Middle Eastern appearance", observed by surveillance cameras wearing a yellow shirt and black-rimmed glasses.
He arrived on a "tuk tuk" carrying a backpack, walked around the Arawan temple where the attack took place, put there his bag and left on a motorcycle taxi.
The suspect who was arrested over the weekend, who meets the description of the person documented by security cameras in the area where the explosion occurred, was found possessing materials that may have been used to produce a bomb.
