Tragedy on vacation: the late Rabbi David Gafner

Baruch Dayan Haemes: On Shabbos Rabbi David Gafner of Viznitz, who lives in the Har Nof neighborhood of Jerusalem, suddenly collapsed and passed away.

He spent Shabbos at Komemyut with extended family, and during Seuda Shlishit did not feel well and was evacuated by ambulance to Barzilai Hospital in Ashkelon, where he returned his soul to his Creator at the age of 54 at his death.

He was born to his father Rabbi Avraham Gafner of Viznitz in Jerusalem and director of the institutions, who died three years ago.

His friends tell of a pious man who sat and learned Torah and was nice to everyone and especially known for the special relationship he had with Admorim of Viznitz.

He made a living as a kashrut supervisor in favor of the Eideh Charedi and was also close to Rabbi Elimelech Biderman.

He is survived by his wife, the daughter of Rabbi Reuven Brim from Jerusalem and ten children, two of whom are not yet married.

His funeral will be held at 12:00 at Beit Midrash Viznitz Katzenelbogen Street in Jerusalem neighborhood of Har Nof to Har Hamenuchos where he will be laid to rest.
