Tragedy in Chabad: Rabbi Boaz Lerner, a mikveh expert and public activist in Nahalat Har Chabad, died suddenly during a visit to the Philippines, where he inspected a mikveh of Chabad being built, at the age of 64 only.

Rabbi Lerner became known as a world-renowned expert in the mikvehs, mainly by Chabad, and frequently traveled to remote places in the world, to help build and supervision of ritual baths.

According to Chabad reports online, Rabbi Lerner built dozens of ritual baths around the world, and is the representative of Chabad rabbis in Israel.

The deceased operated in Zorchai Tzibhor for the benefit of the community in the territory of Har Chabad in Kiryat Malachi, and amongst his actions he founded the Chabad neighborhood of Nechlat Menachem in Kiryat Malachi, built a Chabad synagogue in the neighborhood and luxurious mikveh.

Rabbi Lerner invented several tricks that help various operations, such as a 'protective kit', which includes a Chumash, Tehillim Tanya and charity fund for vehicles. During the pre-disengagement period, when there was a mass march to Gush Katif on the Twelfth of Tammuz he prepared 20,000 bottles for the cup of blessing with a picture of the Rebbe and the Rebbe Yosef Yitzchok Schneersohn for distribution to the marchers.
