A busy day for the rescue units ends with deep concern: searches after two yeshiva boys who disappeared in Horkania Valley in the Judean Desert.

Two yeshiva boys went out on a track in the Horkania Valley in the Judean Desert, not far from the Dead Sea. The travelers contacted the call center 100 of the West Bank police, and said they were dehydrated and gave their location.

At this point, police rescue unit has no contact with the hikers. Five jeeps of the Megillot extraction unit with ten staff members are searching after them.

This is the fourth case today, and the rescue units, based on the power of volunteers, had a busy day. In most cases, rescuers say, it is irresponsible hikers who go out without the necessary preparation. "This is repeated every holiday," said one of them to Behadrey Haredim, "I can not understand what the problem of the Haredi community is, why does it not act as required when it is actually pikuach nefesh".

In the latest case this evening, volunteers of the Megillot rescue unit were called at about 19:45 tonight to help two yeshiva students who have lost their in the cliffs, in the junction area of the Tekoa River - Daraje.

During the rescue, partial contact was made with the boys and other teams were sent forward to the area to locate them. Two hours later, they were rescued and taken safely.

Earlier in the day, a Jerusalem Haredi family, which included two adults and two teenagers, left this morning to go north of the Dead Sea, without adequate preparation, unfitting dress and without knowledge of reading maps. They got lost and at around 17:00 they were rescued by the volunteers of Megilot rescue unit.

In another case, in the early afternoon hours, a group of about 25 haredi young people came up from the area of Ein Gedi to Tziria, during the rise one of them sprained his ankle and could not keep going.

The group continued to the top of Ma'ale Mishmar, to which the Arad rescue unit was called. Two teams came out from Arad, joined the wounded, gave him first aid, and evacuated him to Arad with 2 friends. The rest of the group continued the track to the finish, and then collected them.

Ohad Elharar, commander of the Arad rescue unit team, said in a conversation with Behadrey Haredim: "You have to know that all members of the rescue units are volunteers. In the last case, twelve volunteers, who barely returned from their daily work, went out upon receiving the call to rescue the victim and his friends. These are people who left their life, during quality time with the family, I sincerely hope the travelers appreciate this and are aware of that".
